Permanente Residence
Canadian permanent residence confers to its holders all the same rights as Canadian citizens except the right to vote in provincial and federal elections and the right to stand as a candidate in an election. Some positions in the public service require Canadian citizenship, but it is a marginal situation.
This status makes it possible to work, study and live in Canada as we see fit. There are no restrictions on this status except for the programs of immigrant entrepreneurs who must put their business plan into effect to confirm permanent status.
However, this status is revocable in certain situations well defined by the Canadian Immigration law. Among others, to maintain your status, you must continue to be of good manners, it goes without saying! Serious misconduct may be punished by the loss of status.
